abseilling is cool

Abseilling is like a huge wall you climb down with a neat saftey harness which feels like a nappy. As you climb up the stairs you might be feeling nervous or even not want to do it.As you get to the top it's tall from up there but short from up there. When you get strapped on to a rope that goes down to the bottom the leader tells you to lean over the edge. It's quite scary.

KOBE abseillig

When I got buckled up and I had to walk up. I was so afraid and when I got up I had to go down. We could practice doing it. When Iwas all ready to go I listened to the ladies instructions.

c4 camp Abseilling

First you need to put the harness on. It felt like you were wearing a nappy because the material was tight around your upper legs and bottom. Brian said it's giving me a wedgy. Abseilling is when you are walking down a vertical wall.

absailing

abseiling
abseling is like you are walking down a vertical wall.First you need to put a harness on and then go down the huge wall. you can hear people talking down at the bottom of the tower. Then we had to slowly edged forwords and start to step. At the bottim of the tower you have to take off the harness it was really tight but I could hardly move it . At the bottim of the tower on the ground there is this some sort off stone onthe ground. There is the flyingfox .On the tower .I was scared plus happy. To go down.

abseiling

Abseiling is like walking down a hard wooden wall. First you need to put on a harness, it feels like your wearing a nappy because when Iwas wearing a harness it just felt weird. When we were late for lunch Brian said that it felt like it was giving him a wedgie.

All about camp

We were about to go to the most awesome place on earth. It was going to be the coolest thing I had ever done. We were going to be away from home for two nights and three days. We know that we were goimg to do a lot of activites that might freak us out.

Super Abseilling

Abseilling is like you are walking down a vertical wall. First a harness must be put on you. When you go down the wall the harness gives you a wedgie. Most people did it like Jackson,Jason,Colton and me.I think it must have been tight on them. I like abseilling. When I did abseilling I was really frightened when I took the first step up the stairs and I smiled at everyone. But my brain went on and told me not to do it. Lynette asked me if wanted to do it or not I said yes. I also said "shut up brain" and took a step back I then looked down and cried. I closed my eyes steped back and back then jumped and jumped. I said yes and as I walked to the next activity I started to cry.

Abseilling

Abseilling is like you are climbing down a vertical wall. First a teacher or a parent harnesses you in. Then you climb to the top of the bulky tower and then a parent or your teacher puts a clip on you. Then a lady called Lynette ties a red rope and ties it on your clip. Then she puts on a white rope again. After that Lynette says to step back and don't look back. Then she said to just put your bottom underneth your legs and keep your legs straight. When you go half way Lynette tells you to bend your knees and jump like a frog. When you jump it's like you are going to die but luckily you have a rope that Lynette holds on to you. Then you jump two or three times and you are at the bottom. After that another comes up and they climb the croocked wooden steps in the bulky tower. They might say don't look down repeating over and over as their fear might be heights. Then when they come up you might say strapped check, clipped check and rope checked. And when we are all done we go to lunch. After a long hard day I felt freacked out when I went down.

Scary Abseilling

The tall ScArY ABSEILLING

Abseilling is like you are climbing down a vertical wall.

The abseilling tower is about two of the classroom. It smelt like the lake because the lake is beside the abseilling wall but not that close.

I hear people stomping their feet on the abseilling wall and jumping down.

For me I didn't do the abseilling but I know how I would feel like .... I would have felt my heart racing faster and faster.

I felt sorry for myself that I didn't do it. :( ^_^

Abseilling

Abseilling is when walk down a steap vertical tower. Then you get harness up before you go up the tower you need to where a helmelt. Then you walk up the steap, high steps until you are up the top. The harness became lose....... I said OH NO I AM GOING TO DIE but when I got up I did not die. when I got up I got up Jamayn was going down so I got chained up just incase I fall down. I felt like a chained up felt weid. Then it was my turn all I did was lean on the egde but then I looked down she said Jordan do not look down BUT... it was to late I said Sorry but I can not do it. So she said ok sweet heat you did well.THE END

Absailing rocks

It was my turn to go up. I was walking up the steep and mysterious steps. When I was half way up I was tired. While I was walking up I tripped over and I was crawling the rest of the way up. When I got up there I was so glad to stop climbing. While I was up there my harness got strapped up. It was so pretty. I was so glad to be up there. "You turn sweet heart" thats what lynete said. When I heard her I just got a big fright. Then I went on and she told me not to look down but when she told me not to it made it tempting to do it. When I looked down I said in my mind I wanted to chicken out but I didn't. While I was half way down Lynete told me to start jumping so I did. It was fun. When I made it down she said that I was one of the best people to do it I said thanks.

When I got to camp I was very excited to see lots of activities that I can accomplish. I wasn't really scared but it was pretty cool. But the abseiling was the most exhilarating thing I did when I got to camp.

Abseilling

Abseilling is like you are walking down a wall. First you need to be put into a harness. It felt like you are in a nappy because the material was so tight around your upper legs and bottom. It was like a wedgy and my stomach hurt too and it was fun. It was time to climb the step. At the top of the tower it was nice and cold. It was a good view at the top. The tower was very tall. I was very happy when I got to the bottom.
Abseilling is like you are walking backwards down a wall. I would not have gone abseilling if Lynette wasn't there. She was there to help me. I really appreciated it. I want to give her a big thank you for helping me overcome my fear.

abseilling

Abseilling is like when you're walking across an upside down path. When you get harnessed up you get butterfly's and you start getting a bit scared but once you get to feed the rope it starts getting really sore when you lean back. When you jump like a frog its hard but once you get to the middle it gets fun but still hard at the same time. When I walked up the flat brown wooden stairs It felt nerveracking. I did not want to do it untill I got all the way to the top. I felt happy and sad at the same time but I did not know why. After that I went back to normal. It was some how weird.

abseilling

Abseilling is a big wooden wall and it has black on it. There was two ropes hanging down but before we went up to the top of the big tall tower we had to get strapped in so Phil strapped me into all of the buckles and I went up to the top of the giant tower and when I went up to the top of the tower I got strapped in with all of the ropes and Lynette said to say to our brain "shut up brain," but on the straight wall it was more fun and she said to push off and I only pushed off a little bit and when i got to the bottom I was so happy with my self because I did the abseilling and I thought that i wouldn't be able to do it. by jade♥

Abseiling

Abeiling is like when you are walking down a vertcal wall with a harness around your waist and there is this hook pin that is strapped to your harness with a rope through the pin. And when you lean over the edge your legs have to be shoulder width apart .Then you feed the rope with the pin you push the rope with your hand. When you want to stop you just pull the rope towards you.But when you get to the top you get pretty scared.

Best camp ever

When I went to camp I was very nervous because I had no experiences about camp. I was there to have fun and I was also learning what to do when I go to camp. When I went there it was not what I had pictured. I thought there were tents but instead there was a house and a lot of hills. Apart from that everything was what I pictured. When I was there I saw games I had never been on. The worst I thought was scary and weird was abseiling and flying fox because they were in high places. It looked to me like I was up in space saying hello to everyone down on the earth. When I got to the top it was like 10000 miles down (I thought) Abseiling was when you had to get harness. After that we had to climb the steps of victory.I'm still going I'm still going. My heart was about to blow up by pumping to fast. When I saw the lady I thought I could do it but bad luck I went up feeling like I was unstoppable but it turns out that I was stoppable of my own fear, when I was on the step it hit me I can't do it but I went up and went to the egde with the lady which told me you can do it but I was scared that I might die and go to heaven real quikley unfortunately i was scared of heights.so I sadly did not do it.

Ab-seiling

Ab-seiling is like your climbing down a vertical wall with a harness, a helmet and two ropes atatched to the harness on. The harness felt like a nappy because Phil put it on to tight. Brian said " It's giving me a wedgy." Ab-seiling is about 8.6 meters long. I'm scared of hights so getting to the point where you lean was scary for me. I was so scared I didn't even breath. I heard the bird tweeting, my team chearing for the person who was on before me and the Air rifles. I had mixed emotions all around.

The beautiful game.

Skimming the surface

We couldn't have asked for better weather the day we took the kayaks off the tractor trailer and laid them into the estuary as the tide was beckoning towards the shore. The family was about to be unleashed into the Abel Tasman.

I had never experienced sea Kayaking before. Yes I had done the odd kayaking on a river or lake, but this was a new experience. The kayak itself was about 4 metres long and could hold two people and all our gear and becasue we were going to do some tramping as well, that was quite a bit. It included a tent. The gear was all stored in neat compartments infront and behind us.

Rebekah and my kayak was number 33. I was in the pilot seat. That means I was in charge of directing the kayak by using two pedals that were situated inside the seating area near where my feet go. The pedals would make the rudder at the back move left or right depending on which pedal you depressed. You would also use your oar to direct where you were heading. The added help from the pedal work was appreciated. It did at times become windy and rocky as we skimmed the surface of the Abel Tasman.

An opportunity to develop what you want to know about

I am always keen to find new ways of learning and teaching, even though time does not always allow. I have decided just tonight while writing and checking out how I would introduce this blog to you that what is important is that this blog becomes useable for you. SOOOOOO!

Tell me what you might be interested in learning about next term. Topic studies, areas that interest you. Be as clear as you can. I want you to know though that when you pick something you are interested in there will be investigation work, there will be writing and reporting, there will be reading, there will be technology use and creative arts.

This is an opportunity for you to tell me what you want to do next term and I will see if I can make it happen. Every teacher is being asked to develop something that they can teach the students of all classes on a rotation. Like 3 times a week. If you give me some ideas of what you might be interested in learning about that would be good. For example what sort of science things would you like to investigate? Do you want to know more about certain kinds of computer software and hardware?

Coming to the end of term one 2011

Man am I tired. Then I realise that there is still 2 and half weeks to go in this term. Today I listened to some of your frustrations about our class like people coming over to other people's desks and just starting chatting or the class being quite noisy and making it hard to concentrate. I wonder if you can tell me some of the things you have learnt this term about yourself, your classmates or about the world. Teachers like to hear the good stuff. So add your comments to this post. How many of you would be interested in setting up blog conversations with another class from another school? Let me know through this blog.
